p3060901_1140066418_6We offer several great hotel options for your stay in Portland during the conference. You can choose from hotels near the Oregon Convention Center or in the Downtown area. The majority of the Convention/Lloyd Center district hotels are within walking distance to the Oregon Convention Center.

However, if you are looking to be close to various shopping, entertainment and nightlife options in a cultural district, we recommend staying at a hotel in the Downtown area. Downtown Portland is about a 10 minute ride on the Max light rail to the Oregon Convention Center.  Each attendee will receive a complimentary Max light rail pass to use for the duration of the conference with their registration materials.

APIC will also be providing shuttle service to and from the Oregon Convention Center and the conference hotels in the Downtown area.  Shuttle times and routes will be announced in 2017.  Please check back for updates!

Importance of staying within the APIC 2017 Room Block

By staying in APIC’s block of guest rooms, APIC is able to contract with  premier facilities such as the Oregon Convention Center while keeping registration costs low. Your support by booking your room within the APIC Annual 2017 guest room block is greatly appreciated.

Official APIC 2017 Hotels

APIC has partnerships in place with the conference hotels in order to provide the best rates and convenience for your stay in Portland. APIC has negotiated discounted rates at these hotels below standard guest rates quoted at the hotels as long as you book through the official APIC Annual 2017 housing website. Rooms fill up quickly, so we encourage you to book early for the best selection.

Official APIC 2017 Housing Benefits

APIC has negotiated special rates and benefits for conference attendees at the conference hotels. Not only are these hotels closer to the Oregon Convention Center, but APIC attendees benefit in several other ways:

•   Significant discounts off standard guest room rates

•   Flexible booking policies

•   Simplified ability to make reservation changes, without penalties

•   Lower overall costs; commissions you normally pay to travel sites go straight to the association, which lowers overall attendee conference costs

Don’t be fooled! Hotel reservation scam information

The APIC 2017 Portland Housing Bureau is a part of Travel Portland (Portland’s convention and visitors’ bureau). It is the ONLY official housing bureau for the APIC Annual Conference, and is handling all hotel reservations for the conference. Reservations may be accessed through our official link which will be posted in early December.

Any communications coming from Travel Portland’s Housing Department will be from @travelportland.com or identified as APIC 2017 – Portland Housing Department. Emailed hotel reservation acknowledgments will be from groupcampaigns@pkghlrss.com. Please do not give your credit card information or make any reservations with any other housing bureau, housing company or convention housing appearing to represent Travel Portland, the Portland Housing Bureau, APIC, and/or the APIC 2017 – Portland Housing Bureau.

These companies, frequently based out of Las Vegas and going by names such as Exposition Housing, Expo Housing Group, Convention Housing, et. al, appear to offer lower rates for hotel rooms and are a SCAM. We are not able to verify the authenticity of such companies, and will not be able to provide resolution to issues related to such reservations.

Please contact the APIC Annual Conference Department with any questions or concerns regarding this issue at annual@apic.org. [/accordion-item]
